Genaro Roldan has been a ZTEX employee since 2013, starting off as an Engineer, gaining experience in surveying and estimating. This gave him the opportunity to learn about every aspect of the company, and it helped him understand the process of a project from the very beginning. With financial assistance from ZTEX, Genaro returned to school to receive a Master’s Degree in Construction Management, giving him the opportunity to move up to Senior Project Manager. With his dedicated attitude and persistent work ethic, Genaro has made his way up to Operations Manager. When asked about his career, this is what Genaro had to say:

What interests you about this field? The entire process involving developing a site is amazing. On a day-to-day, looking at problems from a different perspective and better yet, trying to foresee them. From time to time, I still like to help out in the estimating process since I’ve always enjoyed the numbers; I try to share my experiences and support the department in any way needed.

What is your next goal? Keep growing, both personally and as a company. We have a great team and we are capable of achieving much more. This will always keep me motivated and focused to do more, help more and learn more.

What keeps you going forward? My family, our great team and our company leaders.

Who is your role model and why? My mom, she is relentless when it comes to supporting and protecting her family.

What project or accomplishment do you consider to be the most significant in your career? I think more than one project in specific, it would be the special features we have been able to accomplish throughout. Always meeting or exceeding client expectations and timelines are our accomplishments.

A Superintendent since 2008, Humberto Perez has worked on several projects including the Fountains at Farah, the Triple-A Baseball Stadium, La Villita, and most recent, Montecillo. Humberto has been the Montecillo Superintendent since the start of the development in 2015. He has supervised the progress from Units 4A to Units 5B and 4B. Humberto has even been part of Topgolf and Unit 11 at Montecillo. He takes pride in the work he does and how it will portray to the rest of the crew. This work ethic and dedication have awarded Humberto a promotion to General Superintendent, to oversee all ZTEX Superintendents. His communication skills and ability to solve complex issues using his experience and technical knowledge make him an excellent fit for this position.

Congratulations to Genaro and Humberto on their new positions!
